We created this for our friends and family, most of whom do not understand how Jim could quit a great job that he loved (President of JanSport - Eastpak - Kipling, International) and how we can move away from a city that we enjoy (Antwerp, Belgium) and move onto a boat with no idea what we are doing or where we are going.

This site will tell the story of this adventure, starting with the idea, the planning and then with the logbook of our travels and our experiences.

There are many great sailing sites but here you will find the views and experiences of two people who are novices in the sailing and cruising world. If we can do it, anyone can!

During our early planning, the building of Tenaya, the choosing of equipment and the dreams of possible destinations we used the web sites of others and very often had direct conversations by email with them. For better information please look at the Links page for our favorite sites.
